Marico uses the power of the waves to produce low cost, carbon free and renewable energy for the national grid. Setting up Marico's offshore bio-reactors produces large amounts of phytoplankton that absorb atmospheric carbon dioxide; and are the starting point of the marine food chain. The natural crop produces food for fish farms as well as valuable by-products for the food and medical industries. Marico's technologies reduce carbon in the atmosphere and helps combat global warming. |

Its climate change consequences are already affecting every region of the world and the problems created are set to get worse, year on year, as temperatures continue to rise. The increase in the planet’s temperature is caused by increasing levels of Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere which are the product of the burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil.
